Upi Elementary School
Hafa Adai and welcome to the Upi GATE Webpage. Upi Elementary is home to more than 650 students. Upi Elementary was first built in 1958 as Andersen Elementary. The name was changed in 1990, and the school was rebuilt in 1998. We are the Totots. A totot is the Chamoru word for the Marianas Fruit Dove, which is a type of colorful partridge.
The Upi GATE Program currently has about 40 members. Mr. LaPlante is in his sixth year as the GATE Instructor. In Upi's GATE program, academics and performing arts are combined to provide a well rounded curriculum designed to benefit each and every member. Some of our more popular clubs include the Upi Choir, the Arts & Crafts Club, the Upi News Staff, and the Puppet Show Club.
